Need A Will?

Everyone Needs A Will

Why you should have a Will!

If you have any assets at all (home, investment property, shares, motor vehicle, jewellery, furniture, artwork, cash) and you want these to be dispersed in a certain manner to benefit immediate family, relatives or friends in the event of your death, then you do need a Will.

Statistically, 78% of Australians either do not have a Will, or have one that is outdated or no longer relevant.

With a Pre-Paid Legal Services Plan (individual or family), you are provided with a simple Will for free, with allowance for yearly updates or changes if needed. The Will Questionnaire provided to you as part of your Membership Kit is designed to assist you in the preparation of your Will. The following Will check will highlight your need for a Will.

Do You Need a Will? Lets Check.

Complete the following Will Check to see if you need a Will.
Generally, most married people determine that upon their death their property should pass:
  • To surviving spouse;
  • If their spouse is predeceases them, their property will be divided in equal shares among all their living children;
  • If their spouse and one of their children predecease them, that child’s share of their estate is distributed to that child’s children (their grandchildren) in equal shares.
Most unmarried persons with children determine that upon their death, their property passes:
  • In equal shares to all living children;
  • If one or more of their children predecease them that, that child’s share in their estate is distributed to that child’s children (their grandchildren) in equal shares.
