When you choose a current account provider, it is worth researching the additional services that they offer their customers. These will usually include services that are available on demand, or services which are offered for a limited time only to new customers.
Typically, financial institutions will offer customers the opportunity to speak with a financial advisor and discuss their personal finances. This advisor will usually be an employee of the bank or building society with which you have your current account, and they will be able to advise you on the other accounts and investment opportunities offered by the establishment. You may be offered a one-off consultation, or allocated an advisor who will manage your accounts for the duration of your relationship with the bank or building society. For more details see Financial Advisors.
Other financial institutions may offer you an overdraft: a credit extension of your account which enables you to continue withdrawing money when you no longer have funds available. You may be offered a fee-paying or a free overdraft facility. For more information see Overdrafts.
